Shaden Abu Elasal Shaden Abu Elasal is a Palestinian dancer, teacher, and chore- ographer, living and working in Nazareth, where she has estab- lished educational programs and projects in dance. She is guided by the desire to develop the art of dance with an emphasis on the Arab society, creating a free space for her students to grow, for professional development, and specialized accompaniment in the field of performing arts and dance. She has a bachelor’s degree in dance from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance (2001). Shaden performed with the Inbal Dance Theater 2001-2005. She is the founder of the Nazareth School of Ballet and Contempo- rary Dance, supported by the Municipality of Nazareth, where she served as director until 2016. In 2012, she established and direct- ed the first international contemporary dance festival in Nazareth. She also established and directed the Aida Contemporary Ballet and Dance School, and Almedina Association. In 2019, she found- ed her own professional dance company Shaden Dance Compa- ny. Her works include On the Road (2017), Rosa (2016), On the Edge of White (2014), in collaboration with artist Manar Zoabi, and Loss (2010).
