About the Artist Karmel Ahmad Suleiman is 20 years old, Palestinian Dancer. He lives in Jaramana Refugee Camp in Syria. He started ballet danc- ing when he was eight years old. He attended an audition organ- ized by the Syrian Enana Dance Theatre led by Jihad Mufleh. He joined the company, and was trained in classical dance under the supervision of Russian expert Albina Belova. He continued to train and dance in the company until the outbreak of the civil war in Syria, which prevented him from joining any troupe as a ballet or classical dancer, fearing for his safety. As he did not want the war to abort his dream of becoming an in- ternational dancer, he joined the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, Department of Dance, and is in his third year, now. He participated in the Ballet Beyond Borders competition, which was held this year in the United States of America and won the gold medal, i.e. first place in classical dance in the competition (Ballet Beyond Borders 2021). Karmel decided to describe his dream, and what he wants in this video. Hence, he decided to dance to international music. The vid- eo is made up of three different parts in more than one direction, in terms of lighting, costumes, dancing and everything, to show a little of what he has, despite the limited capabilities.
